Keep on hunting! Looking for a job = prospecting for deals.

Recently I was speaking with a recruiter in regards to my job search, I had the potential to see an offer by the end of the week from one of the jobs I had applied to. He asked me if I was interested in pursuing additional opportunities or if I wanted to wait and see what happened with the offer. I was confused with the question, of course I wanted to pursue other opportunities. Who wouldn't? Come to find out many people wait and see on potential offers and stop looking while they are interviewing.

Is it just me or does this make no sense at all?

The way I see it, job hunting is just like pursuing the next deal. You need to fill the funnel. The more opportunities you have the more likely you are to get the PO. How many successful sales people just sit on the one deal they are working on? None, they are always looking for the next deal while closing the one that they have in front of them.

So for anyone out there looking for a job, or looking to be successful in sales make sure you are filling the funnel and getting as many opportunities in front of you as possible.
